My suggestion is, don't lay out rules. The seeker doesn't know where he's headed, "Now is the traveler unaware of himself, and of aught besides himself. He seeth neither ignorance nor knowledge, neither doubt nor certitude; he knoweth not the morn of guidance from the night of error. He fleeth both from unbelief and faith, and deadly poison is a balm to him." (Valley of Love) Instead of a map or boundaries, my personal suggestion is some inner principles. Sincerity, reaching into (what appears to be) the blackness, for God -- this is how resurrection constructs itself from the chaos. Otherwise you're trying to organize something bigger than the mind, with the mind, and that can generate limitations. As far as subjects for the blog, again, I suggest that this come from within you, from your own experience and observations: What are your favorite subjects in the Baha'i Writings or any other writings? Favorite passages, and why? (Because I've found what Emerson said, to be true: That which is most personal, is most universal). What insights do you gain from reading, reflection, consultation, observation of yourself or others? Creation is a messy process, chaotic on the one hand, constructive building in the middle of it which over time emerges. The impact of the Word of God on the human soul and personality is something every Baha'i witnesses, and human nature is a fascinating topic. What do you see? What gives you strength and energy and hope, what sheds light on your path? How has God's grace touched your life? What's your favorite Baha'i book, and why? How have you seen the Word of God affect your or someone else's soul? These ideas come to mind, perhaps they will strike a spark inside of you, and you'll present your own topics.
okay, so fair warning:
ReplyDelete-I'm going to start in the middle.
-I won't post often
-I won't always speak in my own voice
